We made some fun dog treats over here this week. Louie was pretty excited waiting in the kitchen to find out what we were making, he is in the bottom right corner of the first picture. I have noticed that many of you bloggers have dogs too, so I thought I would share our recipe! It is fairly simple and you only need 6 ingredients. P.S. It makes your home smell like Thanksgiving!
Ingredients:
1 can of pumpkin
3 tablespoons peanut butter
2 eggs
About 3 cups of flour
(you can use whole wheat flour to make it healthier)
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
(if your dog doesn't drink enough water add more salt)
Directions:
--Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
--Mix all ingredients together in a medium size bowl.
--add more flour as you go to make it more workable as a dough.
--Lay out a piece of baking wax paper or tin foil and sprinkle some flour on top.
--Then take pieces of the dough at a time to press flat and cut with preferred cookie cutter.
--Move cut outs to a tin foil cover baking sheet and cook for about 30 to 40 minutes until hard.
***The time differs depending on your altitude of where you live.
I never shared what Louie's costume was this year for Halloween...his Frankenweenie size small costume was too big so he wore a Frankenstein shirt and devil wings haha. It is suppose to snow tomorrow and I'm looking forward to spending some time with more DIY projects for the holidays!
Haha! I love Louie's costume!
